Today. [Mar. 4th, 2008|10:37 am]

I haven't been on Livejournal very much in the past few months. Mostly due to the amount of work I have been putting in with some new projects I am a part of. I left Burning Tree project after recording the EP for personal reasons, but am happy to say that I am still very much a part of a band (not announcing what band just yet) and have been pursuing recording at a fevered pace. I'm now able to access the internet at much more regular intervals, so im hoping to update this a bit more.

Weather is such a boring, yet fascinating subject. In Southern California when it rains even the slightest bit, it is treated like there is a hurricane brewing. In the Midwest, crazy lightning storms don't even bat an eyelash sometimes. I think back to the moments I've had that are weather related. Kissing a girl in the rain, or being broken down in the desert on a hot afternoon, or even trying to stay warm when I was snowed in. All of these are very vivid and distinct memories attached to circumstances that were in part, affected by weather. Today has a very autumn feel. There are no real leaves changing and I'm not surrounded by tree's or even fall colors (I wish I was at times though). These memories are what link me in to weather conversations with real interest. It is the possibility of their affect on a future moment or the ability it has to create a situation and put circumstances in front of you. How has weather affected you? Or, do you have a memory that is specifically linked to a weather related (or weather created

Finding a balance. [Oct. 16th, 2007|01:37 pm]

I spent the majority of this morning on the phone between tracking guitar takes. I've been trying to arrange a few different business options for the band and it's been going rather well. I bought the new Transformers DVD where the case transforms into Optimus Prime. I'm not big on toys normally, but this movie makes me feel 8 again. It's a nice escape from reality for a few hours. I got an advanced copy of the new Thrice album and have been listening to the water portion of it non-stop. Open Water and the Whaler are amazing songs. I love that they are pushing themselves as artists to the point of scaring record labels. I wish more bands would step up and find that balance of accessible music that still retains artistic integrity. There are a few bands that do this really well in my opinion. Radiohead, Say Anything, Thrice, Brand New, Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Eat World... what are some of the artists you think manage to make music everyone could like while still being unique in what they do (or at least doing it better than most bands are able to)?

Well, since this is my attempt at making new friends in an online fashion, then I suppose i'll just put it all out there. I had written in an earlier entry that I play guitar in a band. The band is called Burning Tree Project (www.myspace.com/btp). We have been in Florida for the past month recording with a big producer named James Paul Wisner (he is the guy who did Paramore "All We Know Is Falling", Dashboard Confessional "The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most" and a few other records, all of Further Seems Forever's records, almost all the Underoath cd's, the Academy Is..., My American Heart, National Product, New Found Glory, and a bunch of other great bands... So basically it's a really cool place to be with a really talented producer. It has been amazing to watch our band grow and improve under his direction. Our CD is coming out so good. Last night we were up until 4 am or so (east coast time) working on a lot of vocals. Doing a professional album is a lot of detail oriented work. Every little sound and performance matters to make it something bigger and better than before. I'm feeling very blessed to be a part of this.

Well I have AOL Instant messenger and go on it from time to time when the other dudes are working on their parts too... redstartheory. Say hello!

Introduction. [Oct. 14th, 2007|01:37 pm]
Aaron Edwards

Hello. My name is Aaron. I travel for a living so i'm constantly making new friends in new places. I'm lucky enough to get to play guitar and produce records for a living. I call Southern California home but am always traveling. Someday i'll have an apartment somewhat near the Champs Del Elysis in Paris and i'll spend my days wandering the streets and sitting outside Notre Dame (the cathedral, not the college) with a guitar or a good book.

Some of my favorite things are music, photography, reading, movies, thought provoking or revolutionary conversations, and meeting new people. I'm relatively new to the active livejournal communities and am always adding random friends (it's a great way to have some amazing conversations). I will do my best to try and write everyone I add at some point back. If not, I apologize in advance.

I'd love to make some new friends. So there it is. Hello.
